Introduction
Spitzberg & Cupach (1984) created a self-assessment scale to identify levels of competence in interpersonal communication. In the self-assessment survey, I got 72 overall scores, 28 sub-scores in Motivation, 23 sub-scores in Knowledge, and 21 sub-scores in Skill. This result indicates that I desire to approach to communicate with others but have comparatively less knowledge and skills about communication (Spitzberg & Cupach, 1984). The Criteria to Evaluate Interpersonal Communication Competence shows that I have a high level in Conversational Involvement and Appropriateness, medium level in Conversation Management and Empathy, and low level in Adaptability and Effectiveness (Spitzberg & Cupach, 1984). I basically agree with the evaluation about motivation and knowledge and partially agree with the ebaluation about skills. I will discuss them below in detail.

I desire to have interpersonal communicate with others and often find it is easy to understand others’ emotional behavior to cognitively involve in the conversation. I think communication is the best way to know people and the world. I grew up with three of my best friends. All of us like reading comic books, watching movies, and playing board games. One of motivation for initiating relationship is similarity which means that friends have a common interesting and characteristic (Pearson, Nelson, Titsworth, & Hosek, 2016, p. 126 ). I think the similarity must be the reason we become good friends. We often share happiness and sadness of our life, and I like to disclose my self to them. Self-disclose is the process that people intentially share their private, sensitive, or confidential information with others(Pearson, Nelson, Titsworth, & Hosek, p.117). All in all, I agree with the evaluation that I desire to approach to communication with
