The way of life for many people depends on many factors, but usually the first thing that comes to mind is religion. To the public eye, religious practices can seem very different from each other. After looking deeper into the religions, many similarities can be found. For example, Islam and Christianity are two major religions that many people use throughout the world. The two religions both have more than 20% of the world following them. Islam and Christianity have a lot of history together because they actually come from the same religious tree. There are three main religions on the Abrahamic religion tree. This includes Judaism, Christianity, and later Islam. For example, the Kaaba is a large black box structure in Makkah that has been used as a shrine and sacred area that was believed to house angels before the creation of man. The building was then believed to be rebuilt by Adam and Eve. Kaaba also holds a black stone that dates back to the beginning of man. On hajj each year Muslims walk around the Kaaba seven times in counterclockwise direction and kiss the black stone to cleanse themselves of their sins. If they aren't able to kiss the stone they will often touch or point at it. The stone is believed to be pure white but then was tainted black by the sins of man. Other practices that are very important to Muslims are the five pillars of Islam. The five include, the testimony of faith, prayer 5 times a day, giving support to the needy, fasting the month of Ramadan, and the pilgrimage to Makkah. Ramadan is a month of fasting and prayer for Muslims. During this time, they don’t drink or eat during the day hours. They do not eat from sunrise to sunset to gain self control and to give sympathy for those in need. All together, there is many different practices that Muslims do to show of their
