James Who? Of all the amazing scientist who have changed our understanding of what we know, James Watson’s discoveries of the human model of DNA helped other scientists to improve human life. James Watson discovered important unknown facts about genes. Watson’s Life James Watson, born on April 6th, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois, “was bright and inquisitive,” states http://www.dnaftb.org/19/bio.html. During his childhood he was attracted to bird watching, similar with his dad. Watson preferred to have his question answered with detail. Watson first became interested in science when he read the book, “What is Life? The Physical Aspect of the Living Cell” by Erwin Schrödinger. This inspired him to further study this. At the age of 15, he was accepted …show more content…

It is a twisting ladder, which is actually two strands that twist around each other. The strands are called polynucleotides. Polynucleotides are made out of nucleotides. Watson and another partner, Francis Crick, proved that a DNA molecule is able to duplicate itself, explains https://www.biography.com/people/james-d-watson-9525139 and https://geneed.nlm.nih.gov/topic_subtopic.php?tid=15&sid=16. Without being able to duplicate DNA molecules, organisms would not be able to grow. On https://www.biography.com/people/james-d-watson-9525139, it said James invented the Human Genome. This invention would test people to check if they have dieses. Without this people’s diseases would be passed down to their children. Although James Watson discovered only one fact, it led to other great discoveries. Due to the discovery a scientist was able to discover that the double-helical configuration has three dimensional shapes as told on https://www.nature.com/scitable/topicpage/discovery-of-dna-structure-and-function-watson-397. Also, scientists improved on the model of the discovery to better understand it. Without Watson’s discovery, scientist couldn’t improve on or learn from the double-helical
