A High school student was thrown in jail for murdering his ex girlfriend. But was it really him or was it someone who misled the cops? Is an innocent man serving time in prison for a crime he did not commit? Jay Wilds killed Hae Min Lee. Adnan Syed, a 17 year old boy, was convicted of murdering his ex girlfriend, Hae Min Lee. An acquaintance of his, Jay Wilds, happened to know the step by step plan of murder Adnan allegedly used against Hae. Many details of Jays story went unproven and yet Adnan Syed was sentenced to life in prison. Jay Knew all the specific details of Haes murder. Jay tried so hard to get rid of any evidence that could link him to the crime. He did not go the cops after receiving the information that Hae had died. He knew exactly where Hae's car was. He claims to have helped bury Haes body. Over the course of Adnans trial, Jay retold his story on how Adnan murder Hae but many inconsistencies were found. The observations of Haes body Jay spoke about don't match autopsy reports. In Sarah Koenig podcast, Serial, she reviews Adnan's case but there are many pieces of evidence that show how the use of Jays information proves he commited the murder. Jay states he was at Cathy's house with Adnan “before they went to bury her body. It was about six o’clock at night.” This quote proves that Jay was involved in the murder. He clearly wouldnt have admitted that he murdered Hae and burried her body. By saying he only helped bury the body would relieve the possiblity of him being the murderer because he now shows evidence that he was together with Adnan.No one really knows the exact date of Haes murder. This means Jay could have murdered Hae any day. The fact that Adnan and Jay were seen together does not mean Adnan murdered Hae.
