It never rains on Venus because sulfuric acid rain falls from the upper atmosphere and eventually evaporates around 25 km. “All Summer in a Day” takes place on the planet Venus where it has not rained for seven years and the sun doesn't shine. There are children On Venus and in the story they are jealous of Margot, a girl who has lived on planet Earth and remembers what the sun is like. The children show their jealousy when they feel stressed or annoyed because of Margot. If someone finds another person annoying, then they could lose control and treat other people rudely even though they didn’t even do anything. The main character, Margot moves to the planet Venus and it almost never stops raining. The children are jealous of Margot for she has seen the sun and remember it. She wants the kids to remember the sun, so she writes and talks about the sun constantly, which causes the other children to become jealous. Margot wanted the kids to remember the sun or at least to talk about it. In Ray Bradbury’s “All Summer in a Day” readers learn that jealousy can affect how people treat each other. While this is a good claim, there are some problems with this, however. Margot just wanted to remember the sun because it made her happy. She did not mention the sun to be cruel. Some readers would disagree with this because Margot is always upset when the children go near her or talk to her. " ‘What’re you looking at?’ said William. Margot said nothing. She was an old photograph dusted from an album, whitened away, and if she spoke at all her voice would be a ghost” (Bradbury 2). To summarize, although it can be argued that Margot deserved this cruel treatment from the children, she spoke about the sun to make her happy, not to make to the children
