He was born on May 29, 1917 in Brookline, Massachusetts. He was also the first American to be born in the 20th century. John was born into wealth. His grandfather, John E.Fitzgerald, was a skilled politician who served as a congressman and the mayor of Boston. His mother, Rose Elizabeth Fitzgerald, was a Boston debutante and his father, Joseph Kennedy Sr., was a very successful who made a fortune off the stock market after World War l. The tour lasted for 8 months and ended with JFK in London for the summer of 1939. Also while he was staying there a war he predicted in september 1939 had broke out over Danzig. In the spring of 1940 JFK started his senior year at Harvard. The campus buzzed over the activities happening overseas making JFK interested in politics. He also penned a thesis on England's policy before the war. The thesis did really well and helped him graduate magna cum laude, the second highest ranking. His father really liked the thesis his son wrote and made some calls and got his thesis published into a book called Why England Slept, in july 1940. It became a best-seller and gave John a taste of being a celeb. After he graduated from Harvard he attended Stanford Business School and registered for the draft in October of 1940. He was called to go to the military but his status as a student denied him of military entry til the summer of 1941. He was too skinny and failed his physicals for the military and the navy but his father's connections succeeded and he was sworn in as a navy ensign September 25, 1941.He was now working for the Navy in Washington, and was
