John Smith, who is in fact an alien, must find the other aliens from his planet hiding on Earth in order to defeat the Mogadorians, the aliens chasing them. John Smith could have been considered as an ordinary boy - except he's not. He's an alien from another planet, which was destroyed by a different kind of aliens, the Mogadorians. John (Four), along with nine other children and ten guardians, was sent to Earth in order to be hidden from the Mogadorians until he grows up. When he and the others will be fully matured, they can return to their planet, defeat the Mogadorians and rebuild their home planet. Six found both Seven and Ten, along with Ten's guardian. Four and Sam found Nine locked up, and managed to escape... only without Sam, who was left behind. Despite the fact Four wants to rescue Sam, Nine turns towards New York. In Nine's last apartment there they find a lot of information left behind by his guardian. Four and Nine also find out where all the other Loric teenagers are. After the big battle in Spain, Six, Seven, Ten and her guardian turn to India, after hearing about a god hiding there. Number Eight takes them to a cave enabling him to teleport people using his magical abilities, but a battle starts and the Loric teenagers, excluding Ten's guardian, end up transporting in a haste. Six is transported to a desert in New Mexico, while the others are transported to Somalia. Following a dream they both head, Nine and Four turn to New Mexico.
