Introduction

Nowadays, it is globally recognized that the society can be significantly affected by the private sector and its own activities. The employees of a company, the customers and also the environment are affected by both the private and the public sector. All companies that are making the correct decisions are able to increase and enhance their own position and wealth. The business environment is becoming increasingly aware of the relationship between profitability and corporate social responsibility. The profit is one of the organizational objectives that all companies have and want to successfully achieve. It provides its corporate social responsibility activities in order to benefit first its stakeholders’ needs and then its own needs. After conducting research, the company brings new innovative ideas and services which enhance the life of its customers and of its employees. Susan C. Borkowski, in her articles states that, “Johnson & Johnson is part of the third generation phase where sustainability becomes fully integrated with the social and environmental components of corporate life” (105). The company throughout the years has successfully integrated the corporate social responsibility into its employee’s objectives. Through this way, with the support of its employees which are already motivated by CSR activities, the company can achieve its organizational goals and surely can gain the very demanded competition. Vicky Dimopoulou, the HR Operations Specialist at Johnson & Johnson Hellas, after a telephone interview gave to us very important information about the CSR practices of the company. She informed us that J&J is environmental sensitive and more specifically she stated that “Johnson & Johnson offers to its employees hybrid cars with low pollutants because one of our values is to keep the environment clean”(V.Dimopoulou,telephone interview, November 21, 2014). She also confirmed that the employees of J&J are contributing to the company’s CSR practices and they are sensitive as regards the community. More specifically, she stated that “our employees are caring for the community. They are collecting their clothes and other personal things that they do not want any more in the company’s warehouse and they are distributed to people that need them” (V.Dimopoulou, telephone interview, November 21, 2014).
