Journal Entry 5 I observed: There was an impact in the group after last week’s session where we had a new member joining. The impact was both good and bad based on how every member in the group perceived it. Most of the members including me did not like how the new member entered and reacted in the very first meeting with us. I also noticed that there were hardly any pauses as compared to the sessions in the past. There was a big shift in this session especially observing how much did every member talked or contributed in the therapy. I thought: It was very interesting about how differently each of us grasped the entry of the new member. Some of members took it in a positive way and as a reflection to themselves when you have a rough time. And theses were the those who at the beginning did not talked much. While, the ones who usually talked more were a bit quiet in this session. I also thought when another member who had entered the group brought up about the new members opinion. It was very unusual because she admitted that she was someone similar to her instead of the fact that she blended in very well among the group. As a result, I think that this session gave an opportunity to our group to stand together when in a tough situation. …show more content…
It made me a bit insecure in terms of setting a boundary of what should I share and what not to. I often times feel that the interaction in this group is a kind of fast paced that makes it hard for me to interact in the group. In the past sessions, I never felt close to the members or stand together as a group, but after this session it was very helpful of having some same ideas and thinking about a
