Executive Summary Christianbook.com is the online home of Christian Book Distributors (CBD), a company formed long before the Internet even began to take shape. The company was started in 1978 by two brothers who were 19 and 14 years old at the time, out of their parents’ home in Lynn, Massachusetts. In 1981, one brother graduated college and the other graduated high school, while the business graduated out of “Mom and Dad’s home” into its first commercial facility in Peabody, Massachusetts. In 1984 the company built a 24,000-square-foot facility in the Centennial Industrial Park in Peabody. By 1996 CBD had completely outgrown the site and built a new facility across the street, where it remains today.
Philip Levine’s poem Gospel is about a man’s viewpoint on life while receiving bad information. Throughout the poem the speaker uses similes, metaphors, synechdoches, rhetorical questions, and personification to explain more to the readers. The beginning lines explain and give background information to the readers on how the man viewed the world. As the poem goes on the tone of the poem starts to shift to a sense of depression.

Analysis There is a similar amount of positives and negatives about the Gloriavale Christian Community. Yes, they do show Christian characteristics, however their versions of these characteristics are taken to a certain extreme. For us “outsiders” they try to make it seem like they are a fully Christian based community and dedicate their lives to preaching the word of the Lord. However we have seen the extreme side to the claimed “Christian” community of gullible people.
Chapter 9 religion ad society book chapter 9, page 65, caught my attention for the reason it discusses the topic evangelism. This chapter deliberates how members at Grace Taiwanese have a mission by evangelizing individuals to come and hear the word of God. There is a quote on page 65 its says “Christians have a duty to proselytize as salvation is offered by God only those who accept Jesus Christ as their personal savior. Through evangelicals bring salvation to the world.” What Taiwanese church is trying to succeed is by evangelizing and converting individuals about the word of God.
Tortured for Christ by Richard Wurmbrand is a revolutionary book that tells of the horrors of man, but also the miraculous transforming love of Christ. He gives first hand testimonies of the impact that the love of God has on the individual and those that surround them. Even though many of men’s hearts are bitter once God is removed the example of God’s unconditional love shines through His people and can transform their hearts of stone. The purpose of Richard Wurmbrand’s book Tortured for Christ is to rally Christians to support their brother and sisters in captive nations.

Interview Interviewer: Good evening and welcome to Mila’s brush with fame. Today we are joined by the Parish Priest: Rev. Gus Portokalos, from the Greek Orthodox Church of Wollongong. Which is derived from the beliefs systems of the Eastern Orthodox culture. The Church is the joint combination of “autocephalous”, which is greek for self headed, Churches, with the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople being the only autocephalous head who holds the title primus inter pares, "first among equals" in Latin.
Introduction The preparations for Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount began thousands of years earlier, in the Garden of Eden; when God breathed life into Adam and Eve. God’s creation of perfection was defiled by their sinfulness; consequently, they were expelled from the Garden as punishment. Afterward, sin became so prevalent and decadent that God destroyed mankind with a flood; saving only Noah and his family. The Great Flood eliminated nearly the entire earth’s population; however, the sinful nature of man still existed and, as the population grew, so did the need for an ultimate sacrifice for sin.
This is a reflection on Larry Osbornes book, Sticky Church, I did read the entire book. I have enjoyed it and would recommend it. Summary Many churches think they are doing well with all their new visitors and slight rise in attendance.
Does the Church exist for the individual or does the individual exist for the Church? This is what Wright attempts to answer regarding the Church and its purpose. Wright (2006) asserts that “Mission, in its widest as well as its more focused senses, is what the church is there for” (p. 204). To spread the Good News to the entire world about the One Living God who gave His life so that all may live.
Thus, Jesus’ mandate in the Great Commission brings Jesus’ words recorded in John’s gospel to the forefront of what the Great Commission actually is, discipleship. Go and disciple all nations was the command in which the apostles and future believers would bear fruit for the Kingdom, but what is discipleship, and what constitutes discipleship’s authority? In answering these
First, they are to equip other Christians for service, and, second, they are to build up the body of Christ, to add to its numbers, to integrate its members into a harmonious community, and to promote cooperation among them. These tasks are not to be understood as “official positions.” That they are gifts of Christ makes ministry a matter of divine commissioning, not appointment to an office. Ministry is Christ’s program of service to the world and to the church, because it is entrusted to all Christians. Service is the goal and purpose of gifts until the fullness of Christ is
Rainer Maria Rilke was a Bohemian-Austrian writer known for his contributions in German literature. Several of his poems and novels have been regarded by critics as “mystical” as he is also recognized to be intense when it comes to lyrical structure. The subjects he addresses in his works often involve existential themes. Because of this, he is considered to be a transitional figure between traditional and modernist writers. Rilke’s poem
