Support and care are required as one of the main principles within health and social care setting, some of the key principles are, equality, and diversity, confidentiality of information and protection from different types of abuse, bullying, harassment, neglect, or financial abuse. Having these principles in place allows all service users who have varied and different needs whether it be race, religion, age, disability, etc. all equal to the care and support available. Equality Act (2010), Mental Capacity Act (2005).
Ensuring the service user can efficiently support and care for themselves as much as they can without any discrimination due to physical or mental conditions.

The benefits of this to the service user is it allows them to be independent in making their own choices. Strengthening their stand in society to encourage them to set goals for their lives and to make the right positive decisions. The more the service user feels they have a responsibility for their own lives, the more they will feel comfortable expressing themselves. Being creative both service provider and users, in turn, can enable better interaction between the two, giving the service user the learning skills on how to build strong relationships with people. Offering the service user coordinated and personalized care benefits them by allowing them to live their lives knowing they have the support or treatment when required. The well-being of the service user is crucial for improving a good state of mind and quality of life, thus getting more from both parties.
