King Arthur, the hero of the British land of camelot, is a mythological figure who was based around a real person from the 5th to 6th centuries A.D. This Arthur was a Roman military leader who helped to drive away the Saxons in the 500s. Arthur was thus considered an important figure in society so a story was made around him, these are the origins of the heroic figure known today as King Arthur. King Arthur was the oldest child of King Uther and his wife, this made Arthur the rightful heir to the throne, however merlin, a wise man, knew that it would be best not to reveal Arthur’s identity as otherwise there would be great conflict. So instead a challenge was set, in order for the king to be selected. This challenge was set by Merlin, it was one in which a sword had to be taken out of a rock a feat very few could do. King Arthur was brave and courageous, he was faithful and trusted others, he was loyal to those his companions, wanted the betterment of society and also were very intelligent. King arthur was also relatable as he was still compassionate and did not go to extreme extents to get what he wanted. However, Arthur was very stubborn in his beliefs and did not let many alter his vision, another quality that many conventional heroes did not have was how Arthur was blinded by love
