The Ku Klux Klan (KKK)
The Ku Klux Klan or the KKK emerged following the Civil War to suppress and victimize freed slaves. The KKK was founded in 1866 they was extended into almost every southern state by 1870 and became a vehicle for white southern resistance to the Republican Party’s – era policies aimed at established political and economic equality for blacks. The KKK has been around for generations and to make a comparison like race/ethnicity how you was born into it you get born into to The Ku Klux Klan. The Ku Klux Klan has three Klan’s in existence the first Klan was from 1865 – 1870 the second Klan was from 1915-1944 and the third Klan is from 1946 – present. The members of the KKK the first Klan members is unknown the second Klan had between 3,000,000 – 6,000,000 members and it peaked in 1924-25 and the third Klan has 5,000-8,000 members. The political ideology they have over 12 properties that they are based upon for example Ne0- Confederate, White supremacy, White Nationalism, Anti- Immigration, Christian Terrorism, etc.
