Labels have affected our lives tremendously with most people not realizing it. Labels are how someone describes an object or person. Like names, logos, insults, and even nutrition facts Ever since the beginning of language, labels have been used in negative ways and positive ways. There are negative labels like a freak, ugly, fat, liar, and many other. There are negative labels like artistic, pretty, genius, lucky, etc. These lists go on and on. Labels are also connected to the two books, Milkweed and The Outsiders we read during the past few weeks.
In the books, Outsiders, the characters are split into two groups of labels. The Socials (or Socs) from the East Side, and the greasers from the Westside.
The Socs are seen as stuck-up rich kids with fancy cars, while Greaser tends to struggle with money and crime. They are all labels and they had negatively affected each group. If you were seen as a Soc to a Greaser, you wouldn't be seen or treated as well if you were a …show more content…

They unnamed boy never had an identity, and because of that, he was labeled many things like “dirty Jew”, “gypsy”, “Stop- thief”, Misha Pilsudski, Misha Milgrom, Jack Milgrom, and so on. He lived during the World War II where Hitler was taking over. The unnamed boy (recently named Misha) now had to survive the holocaust without an identity. Even if he didn't have an identity the people around, he still gave him labels. because of that, those labels made people treat him poorly to the point he and friends and family were dying or dead. The book showed what labels can do with your life, and possibly force you to lose it. Although the Nazi and many who supported them don't know who you truly are.
