The Lactose and lactase lab report is an investigation on how gastric acidity and temperature affect the effectiveness of a commercially available lactase product. The genetics exam demonstrates my knowledge about inheritance as the result of sexual reproduction. The photosynthesis and cellular respiration document demonstrates my understanding about the chemical processes that take place in plant and animal cells to create Adenosine triphosphate (ATP). The ecosystems, population, and selection document is a compilation of notes that describe the source and flow of energy, the factors responsible for speciation, and selection

Through this project, I got to analyze windmill sound data, collected by Dr. Andy Piacsek, to determine the noise level differences up and downwind. The Magnetic field worksheet was completed in my physics 183 class and it demonstrates my understanding about the magnetic fields that result from moving charges, and the net forces that result when a charge travels through a magnetic field. The matter waves worksheet, from modern physics 1, demonstrates my knowledge about particles behaving as waves, and about the probability density that show the location where electrons may be more likely found. The optics document attached demonstrated my knowledge about the resulting patterns of monochromatic light incident of single or double slits, and about the resolving power of lenses. The physics 182 exam attached demonstrates my ability to solve dynamics problems using the work-energy and impulse-momentum theorems. The last document includes a book review that I submitted to my SCED 354 course about Maxwell’s demon, and includes a brief summary of how the book relates to the nature of

The activity also required me to evaluate deposit maps to determine the type of deposits present at different locations in Washington State. The field trip document demonstrated my understanding about the development of flood plains through downcutting, and the variation of sediment or rock deposits with relation to the speed of water flow. The geology notes document incorporates plate tectonics, Earth’s layers, continental drift, land forms, faults, minerals composition, rocks identification etc.
Astro:
The documents attached are from the astronomy 101. There are two exams in the astronomy exams file, and they represent a portion of my learning about parallax, lunar cycles and phases, trajectory of stars in the visible sky, Kepler’s laws, Wien’s law, the life of stars etc. The galaxies lab demonstrates what I learned about the classification of galaxies and their relative age upon review of the stars within them. The Doppler Effect document is a poster presentation that represents my understanding about the use of absorption spectrum lines to determine whether galaxies receding or approaching Earth.
