Leadership and Management are key skills for nurses at all levels. Leadership skills and management skills consist of the strength and abilities individuals demonstrate to oversee processes and guide initiatives (Cross, Moss,Campbell,De Castro & Oxley, 2014). While these skills can develop organically, to be utilized and applied effectively to practice they must be focused. However, Leadership looks at an individual who does not necessary hold a higher enforcement role, who works aside and aspires others to pursuit common goals and enhance the workplace environment (Meliniotis, 2015 ). These terms both differ from skill point as managers focus on paper work and are in charge of budgets and and supervise peer. However leaders ensure people are supported and inspired to change (Wittmann-Pricem & Cornelius, 2013). Laissez faire Leadership style is one of many which is incorporated in leadership. This style is based on little decision making and control by the leader, supportive and communicates when requested and doesn't criticize but prefers to delegate when necessary leaving most of the decisions up to the rest of the staff (Marquis & Huston,2009 ). An example of this type of leadership is new graduate nurses in charge of enrolled nurses and rest of the staff who are much older and have been at the organization a lot longer than the newly qualified nurse. This style of leadership is adapted from the behavioral theories which concentrate on what searches believe are the most affective behaviors as a leader (Marquis & Huston,2009). This style of leadership can develop results when individuals are motivated and self-directed.
