Leadership
This term is imperative to the lowest level employee to the highest, however, I believe that leadership goes beyond the title itself. Leadership is not about personality, influencing people, nor is it about making friends, it’s the ability to build upon a person’s vision, creating a higher standard to build upon a person’s performance, and increasing a person’s personality beyond the regular. This belief may influence the environment created by the leader’s action where personality, influencing people, and making friends are in correlation once the foundation is established. I am not a leader by title nor are my peers, nonetheless, everybody are leaders from within. I am a leader by example, knowledge, work ethics, and my willingness to assist when obstacle arise. People have different lifestyles and backgrounds as those differences may challenge the people and their peers to better themselves, in return, the organization may benefit highly. Working in a diverse workforce, introduced me to change and how a team should manage and adapt to their workload through planning, organizing, motivating, and controlling. As a crew lead in maintenance, I had to adapt to a diversified workforce by understanding and knowing my peers’ lifestyles and background to alter my force to either train one individual more than another or encouraging an individual to take the lead when meeting and bore-scope arise elsewhere. This action requires more effort by me in the short-run or maybe even long-run, but the function of work management is to ensure that the actual operations is in compliance with the initial plan.
