My leadership statement

A leader is someone who leads others toward achieving the targeted goals. People have different leadership models which help them to fulfill their responsibilities. “There are some leaders hold a position of authority and may use the power that comes from their position, as well as their personal power, to influence others; they are called formal leaders” (College for America, n.d.a). After taking leadership self-assessment, I found myself having different leadership models which I use in my life while leading others. Those leadership models are human resource, structural and symbolic leadership models (College for America, n.d.b). I have scored different points to each model. Human resource leadership models helps me to have a strong connection or relationship and friendship with my team as well as among themselves. So, this helps in developing our level of teamwork, also this model involves coaching, motivating the team’s participation. For example, I sometimes coaches them about using DQ process (selling processes) as well as using our selling application. This helps them to have general skills of how work is going to be done. Once people are working in a team, this increase the productivity of my team as well it create happy working environment where each person is willing to work to succeed. In addition, structural model is the best model since it is all about setting a clear structure, having clear facts which helps in right decisions making (College for America, n.d.b). Furthermore, the third leadership model that I use in leading others is symbolic model. The purpose of using this model is about inspiring others and making them have a vision. I have seen my team performing well because they have a vision, their visions are becoming sales managers, so this makes them working hard. For example, I sometimes tell them stories of how I started as a sales intern but from working hard I got that position of sales leader because I had that vision. This
