They’re “your” spirit animal and Dames Blanches can hurt you but won’t if you play up to their expectations. These myth reflect this culture by being mysterious in some ways. The values in both stories is that people are not always nice but they can be if they do something to you and you do something back for them and live up to their expectations Matagot or Mandagot aren’t really true and they aren’t really spirit animals people just wanted to have an interesting story and Dames Blanches are not true either people just wanted people to believed it because it was scarey and people may have changed it over the years. Myths are impossible to verify because oral tradition, you can’t know if the stories are true or not because of the years they change.
