I learned many things from my time at Lone Star College North Harris. As a student and part time worker for this large multicultural company my experience was eye opening. I saw so many great tools I could use in my managing style, however I saw more things that I will never want to do or make people feel. In my position I had 3 managers all were different levels of supervisors. My direct supervisor Scott Richbourg taught me how to learn a new programing for the company before they go live. There were several programs that changed during my time working. I learn that once the tech department learned of the program they will send out an email. The third thing I learn was from Mrs. Kayla Randolph, I am able to better understand budgeting. She oversaw the budget for office of academic success. Therefore all new requests for office supplies or extra material had to be approved by Mrs. Kayla Randolph. Budgeting is the key component to running any business. Now that I know that every request does not need to be fill and how to find the request that are important for the company while staying in line with the budget. Fourth thing I learn come from Dean Dixon, I learn to celebrate your employee accomplishments including birthdays. That was one thing I saw from her that every accomplishment was celebrated with either a party, card, email, or phone call. Once the employee receives this recognition they work harder and seem much happier. The fifth and last final thing I learn was how not to treat or talk to people. I learn this lesson by watching Dean Dixon interaction with her employees. Dean Dixon would smile and seem happy when around people not in her department. Allen office and started making jokes about how dumb I was and how she didn’t understand how I even got a job. She was so loud that another worker Mrs. Burke when into Dr. Allen office to inform her how loud she was and she did bring her volume down a little but I could still hear every word. I was so hurt I was crying and had to leave my desk to go into the restroom to get myself together. Once I came back to my desk she asked me to leave her office and go to the front. The next incident had nothing to do with me. It was between my supervisor and Dean Dixon. Dean Dixon asked for my supervisor to come to her office when my supervisor waited a few moments to get up from her desk she came stomping out her office and asked her didn’t you hear me ask for you. When my supervisor got to the back door to the back office Dean Dixon started to yell and saying over and over “you need to respect me, I am your boss and the next time I say come to my office you get up and come to my office.” I felt this was so rude and
