Week 9 Chapter 12 focuses on planning before the class. The author mentions that planning can remind teachers what they intend to do during the class, and it is also helpful for class observation. Although class planning is important, sometimes things do not always on the right track. Therefore, teachers have to be flexible and change the plan accordingly. The aim of the plan is to have coherence and variety.
From emails to the construction company to creating a budget and presenting it to the school board the planning process itself is full of writing. Another event Mr. Boggs has had to plan in the past few weeks is a “WHBC 14-80 5 part series on East Canton” (Murphy). A radio station did a 5 part interview series about EC. WHBC interviewed Coach “Spider” Miller, Mr. Boggs, Coach Doug Miller, Tom Davis, Mr. Loy and Mr. Sternberg for this seris. Planning and communication both went into this event.
The lessons I learned from the program have helped me guide my expectations for my future goals. It has taught me that I have the potential to do amazing things with
During my last year of middle school at Drew Freeman my life changed. I was exposed to a wonderful opportunity. I was given the chance to take a test that would determine
Athletic training has taught me to understand medical terminology, time management, and strategic planning. Both professions combined showed me the importance of being patient when dealing with the public. I believe my experience working in a business office along with my current position in healthcare will help make me a better healthcare administrator. I have discovered a few business philosophies that have benefited me in the past and will continue to be motivational in the future. It is important to always be honest with yourself and others.
Overall, I learned a lot in my practicum experiences and really thankful for all these
Without a doubt attending North Carolina Governor 's School West has had the greatest impact on my thinking. I was privileged to join a few hundred of the brightest minds of my age in Winston-Salem, North Carolina for a six week experience away from outside influence. This immersion was especially life altering because of how open-minded everyone was to new perspectives. This truly created an environment of learning and expression in addition to being a major liberation from my everyday life as I had to be truly independent while on Salem College’s campus. I attended as a choral ensemble student, but was able to experience so much more in addition to choir.
My next step in terms of my instruction and learning is to better equip myself with different learners as well as connecting what the children are learning in ESL to what they are learning in the general classroom. I would complete this by continuing to learning how others complete this task as well as communication with others, and asking how they connect the two lessons. Another step that I would also need to take is being more confident in my ability to teach ELL students and not worry so much. I will do this by continuing to work with students in my next practicum experience, and have more confidence in myself. For my own professional growth, I would need to communicate more with others and seem more responsive instead of just listening,
I was deepening my knowledge of human anatomy and how diseases are spread to allow us to succeed at state. I also helped kids on the middle school team. I led experiments for them and helped them study so that they too could have a deeper understanding and broaden their knowledge. This focus will only grow stronger while attending Oklahoma Baptist University. I have applied to the Honors Program; the course work and topics in this program will strengthen my desire to learn.
As an incoming freshman, I viewed PCTI as a school of opportunities, I had heard so many stories and great things about PCTI but never did I imagine to find my true passion here. I applied to the school of Human Resources and Child Development without knowing the impact it would have on my life. My experiences throughout my high school years have helped shaped my character and made me the person I am today. A focused, resilient and hardworking individual .
I feel that the stuff that I took out of being at Mayville was tremendous, because I learned that you need to find a way to work with people you don’t like and it is a real life experience. Most people in their job their is going to be someone they don’t like and will have to work with them. Know I also learned that the hard you work the easier it will be for you to be successful in that class because if you slake you will not be as successful. Know in class we are getting late slips, so if we don’t finish an assignment without the late slip it is an automatic 0%, and it is a way that they are easing our way into high school so we are prepared if we don’t finish an assignment we get a zero.
This was not only with sports, but with grades as well. When I first got there in 4th grade, I scored below average for almost all my classes, doing especially bad in reading comprehension and writing. I took it as a challenge to be at the top of my class, however, and started reading for hours everyday, and consequently, my English language improved. In middle school, I received plenty of awards, such as the presidential award of academic excellence and the love of learning award, which motivated me to pursue on. I was also introduced to role models that became my goal to reach.
I found the weekly planner assignment to be enlightening because it showed my weekly progression for the goals I set at the beginning of the week and the roles that I embrace in a given week. This assignment has helped me with what I can do better to align my goals with my actions. These goals come from the roles that define me, so by increasing my chances of achieving my goals, I am also developing my various roles. Completing a weekly planner for two weeks has provided me an opportunity to be critical of how I spend my time and change it to be more complementary to my key roles. The first week of the assignment , I spent a lot of time practicing, helping teammates with their schoolwork, and studying for the LSAT.
I learned their cultures and backgrounds. Each student learned different, which allowed me to design an instruction plan to meet the student’s needs. I enjoyed the teaching these students. The community at E. R. Dickson allowed me to work with
As mentioned above, there are five tasks of management that should be accomplished in a daily work routine. Those are planning, organizing, staffing, directing and controlling (Koontz and O’Donnell, 1976). Notwithstanding that some theorists, such as Richard Steers (1985) and Mason Carpenter (2009), highlight only four of those, planning is always considered to be the first and main function of management. It is an activity that involves choosing a strategy to accomplish the objectives of the organization, using the resources effectively and efficiently (Olum, 2004). To make a good plan, a manager should follow the essential steps of planning, which are setting goals, identifying the threats and opportunities of the organization, developing a plan for achieving the goals, and finally evaluating it and reviewing (Gamache, 2008; Duncan,
