For my final marketing plan I chose Lowes Home Improvement. I chose Lowes because I have worked there for almost two years and I feel that I know a great deal about the company and the things that it needs, because of my experience on the sales floor. A little history about Lowes, Lowes started as a small town hardware store opened by James Lowe in nineteen forty six. He started this business as a small community hardware store that focused on small things that people around the community needed like wash tubs and horse collars and other small miscellaneous things. They have things to benefit contractors such as a drive through lumber yard and discounts on most things if you purchase a large quantity. Lowes has Lowes installation prices for customers that don’t want to do it their selves. They have a wide range of products to fit any need of a home improvement or repair. Lowes also has the best customer service to help customers with any of their project needs. Lowes has no control over the product before it gets to the store, so sometimes products are placed on back order and we don’t know until it’s been past the date of expected delivery. Another issue is that Lowes is only in north America and two stores in Mexico. Because Lowes has no control over the product manufacturing if the product has defects and has to be recalled it decreases Lowes’s value as a store especially if it’s a product only sold at Lowes. Lowes has the opportunities to expand to other parts of the world and get outside of north America. The housing market could increasing and will subsequently cause Lowes business to increase in the near future. The Home Depot could run specials that harm Lowes sales because they can’t drop the price that low. The economy could bottom out causing people to stop improving their home and focus on paying for bills and
