In 7th grade, I transferred from Bryan Middle school to Visitation Catholic School and there was not enough room in the accelerated math program, which ultimately set me behind. In high school, I found myself bored in math and knew I needed to challenge myself, so I ended up setting up a meeting with the math department head and we discussed my options. Sophomore year, I ended up taking two math classes, which was not easy; double the test, quizzes and lessons! However, by taking two math classes, I was able to get myself into a higher math class which ultimately was my goal, and achieving it was an amazing feeling.

I can 't stress that enough because if you don 't you will lose things really easy and become a real mess. Firstly, electives in middle schools could allow students to learn new skills and experiences.
After watching both videos, “The English Language Arts Standards: Key Changes and their Evidence” and “The Mathematics Standards: Key Changes and their Evidence,” I now realized where the need for the Common Core standards arise from, with the United States being behind in education ranking at 14th and our students performing at a low standard. The Common Core standards were formed to help combat this situation. Our students were entering college and the workforce under prepared. The Common Core standards were implemented with the understanding that these standards would help our students to graduate high school, college and career ready. These standards will provide a better understanding and mastering skills in language arts and mathematics.
The Common Core State Standards and Manuscript studies are two very unique subjects that would almost never be mentioned together in normal conversation. In fact these are two subjects that have nothing in common. Except that they do. The implementation and adoption of the Common Core standards throughout the country has caused major debate in much of the country about the importance of teaching handwriting in schools.
Do we really need Modules? Common core is the set of standards that the government has decided that schools in the United States should follow. Using this system, everyone across the U.S. is learning the same things within the same time period. This way a 6th grader in the middle of nowhere Colorado is learning and meeting the same criteria as a 6th grader in a prep school in California.
We need to stop trying to meet with Jesus but train ourselves to live deliberately for Him. A little bit of structure is a good way to make the deliberate step forward in our faith journey. Work out what part of the day works best for you to be open and available to meet with God. We need to seek ways to which we can feed ourselves spiritually to keep Jesus close, as Paul says to “continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling” (Philippians 2:12-13). To grow means to engage with Jesus through His word.
As a college freshmen, there is no doubt that I still have a long ways to go in order to achieve my academic goals. And through this journey, I know that I will encounter highs and lows just as I experienced in the past, most notability in high school. I keenly remember instances around this time where I doubted my abilities when subjects like math was proving to be difficult, even when I was trying to put in effort to stay on track. I was struggling in math because I did not try to identify my weaknesses, and never tried to come up with solutions to fix my problems. Rather, I chose to give up on math and settle with a grade barely passing.
School is a great place to learn and everything goes according to plan with no worries. If you believe this you are a complete and total idiot. I find that the beauty of math is in the process, and if students learn to care more for that instead I think they will understand more math. While being stressed is definitely my biggest weakness in math my biggest strength would be conceptualizing problems in new ways. Often when I was in college of high school when math becomes more complex and there are more than one way to solve the problem I would enjoy exploring that. I would try and look for the most effective way to solve problems it helped me to avoid the trap of getting the right answer being the goal. This is something that has definitely got stronger the more math I master.
