4.0 Planning Function
Tech savvy employees are becoming a huge part of the workforce and this poses an issue for management to be able to manage this type of employees. Managers have to plan, as planning is very crucial because it is the basis of all the things managers do. It includes strategies, analysing the environment, developing alternatives and setting objectives on how to tackle the issue and aligning it with the overall vision of the organization. Management’s objective is to create a workplace environment that adapts to new trends and emerging technology. Management should outline the reason the team exists along with what is required of them; this should be followed by setting targets for the group’s output and useful methods and tools that the team are to use in their work. Management should also aim to ensure all team members are aware of other team members’ beliefs, ideologies and preferences. Management should also outline the activities and coordinate how they will be carried out by the team. In the case of a marketing team, management should indicate a targeted response rate, as well as suggested methods of advertising to which resources will be allocated.
