He created many famous works of art throughout his career. When hired to paint the Sistine chapel ceiling, he was extremely annoyed. He considered himself to be a sculptor first and painting was not part of the specialty. Although he accepted the job, he still felt annoyed by the back-breaking work it took to paint the ceiling.
