From the moment I was accepted into the Milgard School of Business through the freshman direct program I knew that I would soon be introduced to a whole new spectrum of academic and career opportunities. For this being my first year within Milgard and the University of Washington Tacoma, I have become highly involved as a Milgard business student, Student Center Assistant for the University’s Center for Student Involvement, and resident at Court 17 while still maintaining a scholarship status in the Dean’s List with a 3.73 GPA. After taking the 300-level core business classes and participating in Milgard’s Case Competition, I finally realized what field I wanted to proceed into. Having an affinity for understanding, researching, story telling, design, and creativity, I knew that I wanted to pursue a marketing major. My passion for marketing has since grown, as I take 400-level marketing courses, run an online advertising campaign through my participation in the Google Online Marketing Challenge, run a campaign as a candidate for ASUWT Milgard’s Business Senator, and devote to personal online studies of marketing tools through HubSpot and Google Analytics. Someday I would like to create memorable campaigns that raise brand awareness of organizations that are making efforts to alleviate important social problems. I hope to become one of the few female Pacific Islander marketing directors out there. In terms of my short-term goals, I am aiming to obtain my Bachelor’s degree, enter into Milgard’s Master of Science in Business Analytics Program, find an entry-level position in the career of Marketing, and support my siblings’ financially when they attend college. My life long goal is to engage in activities that allow for continuous self-improvement and
