Multipliers: How the Best Leaders Make Everyone Smarter is written by Liz Wismen. She is a leadership expert who has a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and she holds a Masters of Organizational Behavior from Brigham Young University. She is very talented at what she does and she teaches leadership to emerging leaders all over the world.
Liz Wiseman and management consultant Greg McKeown explore two different types of leaders; Multipliers and Diminishers. This book was written to people become a more effective leader. I learned a lot more about leadership and what traits an effective leader should have.
After reading this book I look at leadership a lot differently. My thoughts before of a leader were traits of being positive, communicating with others, leading by example, going beyond what is expected of them, being responsibly, and having integrity. Although multipliers do have some of these traits I learned so much more about what it takes to be an effective leader. Asking a lot of questions and listening more than you speak, remaining calm is stressful situations, making mistakes and taking the blame because you know you will learn from them If you want to become a multiplier you should as a lot of questions, and listen more than they speak. This is such an important trait to have that did not even cross my mind when asked what traits effective leaders have. They should also remain calm when they are stressed out in situations. They create a healthy environment that employees enjoy working in, and people look up to them and can always count on
