My Goals Of Doing The Burris Swim Team

Muhammad Ali once said, “What keeps me going is goals.” My goals that I have created are to help me keep on going no matter what happens this year. My first goal for the year is to practice my swimming and win at least one event. The second goal is to study more for school. Finally, I want to be more active in helping out the community. My three goals will help make me stronger, improve my grades, shape me into a better person and push me to do my best.
I want to improve my swimming this year because this is my first year doing the Burris swim team. I am nervous that I will not be able to compete with the other people on the team. Even though I have been on other swim teams, I feel like I have less experience than other people on the team. Winning a race will prove to myself and my teammates that I can come toe to toe, or in this case, finger to finger to my competitors. I plan to complete this goal by practicing as hard as I can during practice, as if every time I get in the water is a race. I will also practice outside of the pool by doing small things like riding my bike to school or doing a lap or two around the block. I have much more high school classes this year and many of my grades will affect my GPA. I do not want to start of high school badly because of my carelessness. My strategy for accomplishing this goal is quite simple. I am going to take better notes in class and review them every day for ten minutes. On the days leading up to a test, I will triple my review time, and study for thirty I am going to figure out what helps me study best so when I am studying I retain as much information as possible.
