My initial idea for Research Project was to investigate the use of social media, as it’s something everyone uses worldwide, including myself. As I spend most of my free time on social media, I’ve always wondered what the psychological effects were, whether they were positive, negative or a combination of both. To find out if there were any other topics revolving around social media that interested me, I used a lotus diagram to brainstorm other question ideas. Using the lotus diagram, I was able to develop six different subtopics and six questions for each subtopic. The research methods I plan on using are qualitative research and quantitative research. The research processes will include EBSCO articles, internet research, interviews (if the possible interviewees are willing to answer my interview questions) and surveys. These processes will allow me to gather a range of information, from a variety of different perspectives, giving me a broader range of information. When using EBSCO articles and website articles, I need to take into consideration the credibility and relevance of the articles, ensuring the information will be useful for my research.
To ensure I finish my Research Project on time and have everything completed, I need to ensure my time management is good and I’m not falling behind. I plan on keeping a list of task that need completing and setting personal deadlines for when I think these task should be completed by. By regularly recording my progress in my logbook, I’ll be able to make sure I’m completing everything required and making sure I’m working at a constant standard. If I meet the personal deadlines set, I’ll be able to ensure I leave enough time to go over completed work and make any necessary
