Leadership can often times be difficult to define. There are many aspects as to what a great leader is and how to become one. The real answer is that being a great leader means something different to each individual, and there are many opinions on how to become one. To me, leadership is the process of guiding your peers towards a goal. There have been many influential leaders throughout my career, some have been good and some have been bad. Even the bad leaders can teach you something about leadership.
I often reflect on what it means to me to be a great leader. It is not always the smartest, or the strongest, or even the most prepared individual. I would say that a great leader is someone that people trust without even really knowing that person. It may seem on the surface difficult to just trust someone, but if you think back there is always a situation that you remember where an individual just naturally took

I have always used this phrase when working with my peers, as I feel that the worst thing you can do, is to do nothing. I believe that even if what you end up doing is not correct, at least you are doing something. Sometimes just the simple act of starting to do something, leads you to doing the “right” something. This holds true especially when other people are doing “nothing”.
One area that I would like to improve upon in my leadership style is to paint the big picture of what we are aspiring to accomplish. I am not always focusing on the big picture, and realize that I should as this would help me to achieve my goal of being a better leader.
Another area that I would like to improve upon while being a leader is to seek out challenging opportunities for myself. I often challenge the people that work for me, but they do not see me challenging myself. I could argue that by challenging them to better, that I am challenging myself. I will try to show them that I have greater challenges as
