Personal Philosophy
An optimum learning environment that is inclusive based upon a team aspect. A classroom team consist of the teacher, the students, and the parents. We all contribute to the classroom environment in different ways. As a team, we should all be included in every aspect of the learning environment. All student should always feel included in all aspects of the learning environment. As educator, we should provide the same quality of education regardless of our students’ socioeconomic status, learning abilities, or ethnicity. The teacher is responsible to maintaining that environment with the support of the students and the parents daily.

Our school district using Leader in Me program has improved behavior tremendously school wide. The Leader in Me program teaches students 7 Habits that makes the students accountable for themselves, respect others, and become leaders. Students are rewarded for their achievement using tiger tokens, which can be spent to purchases varies things. The students can attend school dances, party of the green, Mardi Gras parade, Christmas ornament making, etc. The students are also able to document their achievements academically, personally, and behaviorally in the Leadership binders. The students are both excited and proud to share their achievements with parents and peers. I found that most parents whose child have behavior issue are more likely to communicate and support me in the class because my communication is daily. The remind app has truly open the lines of communication with my student’s parents. The team development between my students’ parents and myself has improved tremendously. The parents are aware of behavior issues and can easily inquiry about it via text message. Behavior issues have shown a trend of decreasing once I have communicated with their parents.
Students with serve behavior issues are place on a behavior plan that required an hourly tracking. These students a required to check in with administrative staff in the morning and afternoon. The administrative staff provides positive words or discussion before the student goes to class. In the afternoon, they look over the student tracking sheet to discuss any issues or provide positive praise or prizes for good behavior. The parents are required to sign the tracking sheets daily. The teachers also make parental contact a least once weekly to discuss any issues or
