My Transition To Cal State Monterey Bay

The first half of the fall semester has sure gone by quickly. It is crazy to think that I am already on my eight week of the semester here at CSUMB. My college journey has had its ups and downs with struggles along the way. Adapting to the college environment, developing a new attitude, and adapting to the coursework has been some of the challenges that I have faced during my transition to Cal State Monterey Bay. I arrived at CSUMB as a different new person with a positive fresh way of thinking. Graduating from high school and entering college made me realize that I had to concentrate on myself, my goals and my ambitions. Between high school and college I started developing a new mature attitude. My goals and aspirations as I grew up also changed. In high school my main goal was to graduate high school and attend a university. Now that I am a college student I am focusing on reaching new goals and one of my main focus is to graduate college and pursue my degree. In high school I would always procrastinate and complete the assignment a day before they were due. For instance, sometimes the amount of assignments have been difficult to complete especially multiple papers that I often have to complete for different classes. In my opinion the work load for my WRT 95 class is easy to follow because the minimum requirements to write an essay is two pages long. In some cases for some classes I have to write essays that are 7 pages long. One of the strategies that I have used is to be flexible and set up a schedule. One helpful strategy is to create a To do list. I often write all of my homework assignments and create a schedule that says how many hours I will be spending in each assignment. By setting this schedule it helps me to stay on task and finish my assignments
