I however noted that I have challenges in relation to run-on sentences; I tend to write long sentences that are difficult to understand. By seeking the instructor’s guidance and consulting relevant sources, I plan to methodically eradicate this writing weakness. The English 1010 course has thus enabled me to identify personal writing strengths and weaknesses that I plan to address as time goes

1) I could not find a Thesis. Throughout the essay, he talks about how college-level writers can most times be boring and repetitive when it comes to their essays. 2) He says the first step is to write down the argument that comes to mind, but to not use it, because that’s probably what everyone else is going to write about. 3) He recommends avoiding obvious content, taking the less usual side and to always write everything as vigorously as possible.
During my years of being a scholar most of my writings have come mainly from research papers. My teachers would either assign a research topic or you could choose your own. Sometimes we even got readings or books that we would have to read and write a paper on. This past semester I took English 1001 and typed papers I had never learned to do before and I also learned how to do an annotated bibliography. These papers were papers like visual and rhetorical analysis.
Nevertheless, it is the way that friction is approached that makes a difference. By applying my positive attitude and sense of finding a common ground among coworkers, it will enable me to apply this strength to my daily life. Lastly, the strength of achiever was a lesser theme for me compared to my other top strengths. I sometimes take on too many tasks and want to accomplish many things in order to make me feel good about myself. I am extremely committed to everything I do and influence others to succeed in what they do.

I find that if I re-read the sentence I composed, I often find places were I can separate my thoughts and avoid run-ons. Forum 2: Writing Primarily about My Writing 1. Three grammatical issues I always find myself having difficulty using while writing include the infamous semicolon, rephrasing sentences so they aren't in the passive voice/ending with a preposition"," and the hotly debated use of the "Oxford Comma". - As per the use of the semicolon, I understand the general usage rules, however, I am often too timid to incorporate it into my writing out of fear of misuse. - In my Junior year of high school, my Honors English teacher was an extreme fundamentalist regarding grammar.
In “Five Myths About Writing”, the section discussed beliefs that caused issues when students were learning how to write. Four out of the five, I already knew they were false. For example, you have to know your topic before you write. It doesn’t matter what genre it is, as long as you are continuing to write, you can figure out your point throughout time. Many bestselling authors would not know what the ending of their novel was at first.
I have taken some classes on writing and have improved my writing drastically over the years. As with everything, there is plenty to improve on. My high school was a college preparatory school, so we did countless papers. One of my strengths is to be able to come up with a paper fairly quickly, but I do need to improve in some areas. Things I should improve on are word choice and sentence fluency.
The tone of my writing has definitely changed over my years of being a writer. Although reading has always been my strong subject, I’ve come to love writing. I would describe my standard tone as a mix of using figurative language techniques such as imagery and having a sort of sarcastic diction. I love using figurative language techniques such as imagery because I feel like it makes reading more vivid to the reader. I like to ready books by authors that use imagery because it makes the book like a movie in my mind.
I chose this writing assignment because I did not successfully address the prompt, and I feel like it is important I understand what really was being asked for this assignment. At first I was really overwhelmed because it was the first assignment and the process was confusing to me somehow at that time. When it came to rewriting, I re-read the prompt, notes, process done, and comments to see where I did not follow the process. I went back to change my arguments more into how this affects the audience. For strengths, my evidence is still strong, but as a weakness I still not a hundred percent sure it flows well.
But overall, I struggled with various factors of writing and really hope to improve these factors all through the freshman composition courses. One factor that I struggled with was repeating the same point in one paragraph to the other. A great example is portrayed in my essay 3 draft where I repeated the importance of obtaining a job with the use of communication in two paragraphs. Another factor that I struggled with was being able to use the correct word to exemplify what I am trying to
I try to fix this by reading my papers out loud and deleting and unnecessary words. Despite my weaknesses, I have learned to highlight my strengths. For example, before, my paragraphs used to be really short, but I have learned to use detail and examples to expand the number of sentences in a paragraph. Also, my use of transitions is shown throughout my writing, allowing my essay to
