It looked interesting to me and we can add more detailing in the notes by using this method.
No, it was not tough for me but have to consider detailings about it. So, I did refer the text for examples. I tried to do all three methods but, out of all three formal outline method is easy to use for me.
Yes, I do feel more comfortable with it now.
I have to listen more carefully as now I have to find the main idea of a topic to make notes.
My learning style is reading/writing. So I can easily adjust with formal outline style as it will be easy for me to use. I also involves arrows in my notes to link the supporting idea. Also, with the help of internet, we can search the meaning of any word, side by side of the lecture. At the same time, using laptop in the class is a distraction too. Sometimes we just focus on typing and understands nothing about the lecture.
However, with hand writing notes, we can actually participate in the topic. We understand better, using two styles of learning at the same time- listening and writing which gives us long-term memory of the topic. The disadvantage of hand writing style is missing information, and they do need to be well organized.
Using abbreviations while making the notes makes them easier to write and it saves time by not writing the whole word. There are so many abbreviations in the medical field that are used daily in the offices, for example, CPR-cardiopulmonary resuscitation, MRI- magnetic resonance imaging. If we will learn all these abbreviations in the school, then we can practice it in notes during lectures. We will be familiar with them and later can be used them in medical offices during work. For eg: when you are working as a dental assistant and doctor is evaluating the patient’s condition and explain you all, then you have to write everything quickly. Using all the big words during notes will take time and you might miss some important information for the patient’s
