Mya Chamberlin Champion 3/6/2024 KW Comp Lutheranism There are about 77 million Lutheran church members across the entire world, (More than 77 million Lutherans in 148 LWF member churches). I am one of those 77 million who share this same Lutheran faith. Lutheranism is a form of Christianity, but it also follows the teachings of Martin Luther from the 1500s (What is Lutheranism?). While being a member of the Lutheran church, a baptism will take place, most commonly happening when someone is a baby, once the person is around middle school age then confirmation will begin. Confirmation is restating the baptismal vows that were not able to be said because of how young someone is when they get baptized. Some things make an individual church unique. …show more content…

For me, attending church and being a member of the Lutheran community has been impactful because it can follow me into my day-to-day life. Every Sunday when I was little would always consist of my family going to Sunday school and then church right after. However, the younger someone is, the more likely it is that they are not paying attention to what the Pastor is saying up front during his sermon. I would color and write notes to my mom and she would scribble down an answer to my question while he was talking about whatever the gospel reading was about for that week. When there is a child who does not pay attention in church, the real learning is during the Sunday school lessons. They would have a story lined up that we would most likely be able to relate to our daily lives, and they would teach us about how we could live our lives in the way Jesus would want us to, this story is mostly talked about in the sermon at the church services. In my church, the guests will be greeted by people, those they may know and those they do not. I think everybody is super friendly with each other and that is what makes church so enjoyable to me—the feeling of a community around. Once greeted at the front door, I will go ahead and walk
