1. On the OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) I learned that they are part of the United States Department of Labor. Their main goal is to assure safe working conditions for men and women in work places by making standards for a work place to follow. They also offer training, education programs and assistance to ensure a safe and healthful working place. OSHA can answer questions such as everything about an eye wash station at a job, such as when an eye wash station is needed, the different regulations for eye wash stations for general industry or construction. They have all the laws and regulations about different jobs and what is needed to comply with the law. The NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) is kind of like OSHA. They focus on the well-being of the works and how to make it better. NIOSH wants to promote safe and healthy workers through interventions, recommendations, and capacity building. They also focus on international worker safety. They find ways to make working conditions safer through research. Their vision statement is, “Safer, Healthier Workers”. Their mission statement is, “To develop new knowledge in the field of occupational safety and health and to transfer that knowledge into practice”. The OSHRC (Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission deals with the disputes between the Department of Labor and employers. The create case files. The file is then sent to Washington D.C. A judge will then hear the case out and make a written decision based on the evidence and facts. The OSHRC is an independent Federal agency
