Sodexo Mission Statement

The organization I would like to analyze is my current employer Sodexo. The organization helps people get Jobs and maintain them. Sodexo’s Mission statement is “Improve the Quality of Life of all those we serve.” (Sodexo mission statement, http://www.sodexo.com/home/group/fundamentals.html). I never heard of Sodexo I was having trouble finding a Job, and this person posted that Sodexo was hiring. I went on the website and looked at the services they offered, and noticed that one of their services was helping those who are disabled, or in need of employment. I decided to apply, and I got the interview. I went and the person I had for the interview said forget these papers I’m giving you the Job. That’s honestly how I got hired. Sodexo is a company that contracts out with hospital to do their food and housekeeping service, What I love most about my Job is a lot of people would be unemployed if Sodexo didn’t hire them. Sodexo specializes in giving people second chances it makes their employees feel valued. One of my co-workers once said “ I thank God for this kitchen, or I don’t know what I would do”. A benefit we get as employees of the company is it is contracted with Sharp Hospital out of san Diego so every so often sharp will give us gifts or offer us some of the training they offer their employees. This helps us as employees grow. The text states “nontalents will seek to become talents they will seek guidance about how they can improve…..” ” (Chowdhury, Subir. (2002). This is true because I was a no-talent when I was hired. I had little to no work experience I just knew in my heart it was my dream to work again. “ In humanistic organizations, managers assume, that there Job is to guarantee the high morale of workers, which will logically lead to increased outputs of goods and services on the part of satisfied workers” (Swanson, R.A. (2007). Since we work in a public field we must have an updated shot record and a physical along with a background check before were even allowed to start working, My Job though is very timely because when I got hired I told my sister about the Job and she actually ended up getting hired, but she rescheduled her appointment to take the physical and they told her after that she couldn’t reschedule again. They have always been professional and helped me with my concerns. One time when I was trying to transfer to the kitchen the local area hr told me I had to wait 90 days. I gave a resignation letter because the issue wasn’t getting solved. My lovely parents said read the new hire paperwork, I saw a clause in there where it said if you had an issue the local hr couldn’t solve to take it to the corporate hr. So, the next morning as it was a Sunday. I started that Wednesday in the kitchen and I’ve had my good days and bad days but overall, I believe I’m doing an above average
