Narcissism There are certain traits and relational attributes that will either enhance or detract from your influence and impact as an effective leader (Kinicki, A. & Fugate, M., 2016, pp. 440-443). Kinicki & Fugate noted that someone who demonstrates narcissism displays “a self-centered perspective, feelings of superiority, and a drive for personal power and glory” (2016, p. 444). Ultimately, this leadership style, whether done knowingly or unknowingly, may be less relationship-oriented given their inherent need to maintain a positive light on themselves and control in the situation (Kinicki, A. & Fugate, M., 2016, pp. 450, 454-457). Titus 1:7-9 confirms that as leaders we must avoid being overbearing, quick-tempered or pursuing dishonest gain while maintaining self-control. We should all strive toward avoiding these behaviors to avoid tainting our testimony and demonstrate a Godly
