I am most attracted to Loma Linda University’s mission to make man whole and continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ and its commitment to faith and science. As a Seventh-day Adventist christian, the motto to make man whole has never been more personal than it is now. As I grow in my experience as a christian, to further the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus continues to take center stage. This mission and an understanding of the need for whole person care is something I seek to demonstrate and encourage through my profession as a nurse and involvement in my community.
The enchanting skyline that travels for miles and miles; lights that reach the stars illuminate the dark sky; melodies of busy streets and hustling people fill the air. This is the city that never sleeps. 8.5 million of us shine to enliven the streets of New York City, doing our best to last through the dark. As humans, we are attracted to changes in the contrasts of hues, which is why we are mesmerized by flickering lights. Lights signal certain thoughts, and based on their origins, we walk a path of induced curiosity.
As a prospective member of the Masters of Arts in History program at Liberty University I hope to accomplish several things. I am currently serving as a high school history teacher and this program will benefit both my students and myself alike in the foreseeable future. This includes reaching the goals of earning my master’s degree which will result in a higher level of professional knowledge in my content area, while increasing my income simultaneously. This is not the only positive factor, Liberty’s program will also contribute directly to growth in regards to my relationship with Jesus Christ.
As I think of the University of Mississippi, the aspect that most impresses me, and is an addition to my desire to immerse myself in this prominent learning community is the University's outstanding resources. I am very attracted to the opportunity to explore and learn at the University of Mississippi's science departments. Science has been my academic passion ever since I entered middle school. Since then, I have always wanted to get into the medical field to become a neurologist. I believe the brain is a black box with endless mysteries waiting to be explored.
At NYU, I hope to achieve this goal. I aspire to give structure to my life by participating in rigorous courses that will enable me to pursue a career in treating mental illnesses. In the College of Arts and Sciences, I intend to acquire skills in communication, analytical thinking and understanding human social behavior, cultivating my passion for understanding what makes the human brain so fascinating. Situated in one of the largest cultural hubs of the world, NYU would allow me to, like the squiggle, explore my interests. I would be able to visit museums such as the Whitney or take part in clubs such the Slam Poetry Club and Model UN or even partake in the annual Strawberry Festival.
I have worked so hard in school waiting for a moment like this. UNCW would be a great challenge for me, but it would also help me out immensely. UNCW has a excellent education program and that is exactly the field of study I aim to go into. I spent approximately half of my sophomore year at the early college tutoring at Dobson Elementary. I cherished every second helping my fifth grade class.
I have always retained a keen passion in learning about medicine and dreamed about becoming a pediatrician. As I learned more about NYU, I fell more in love with the university, aspiring to one day step into the halls of the school and make my mark. I believe it was the perfect place for me to start my pre-medical studies into one day becoming a doctor. When I first ventured in and around NYU in New York City, my eyes sparkled at the marvel of the campus. It is not one's typical campus.
All along, I have managed to maintain the principles of ethics and integrity, a strong sense of purpose, and morality, which binds me rigidly. Appointment as student leader in all stages of my school and college life has presented me with opportunity to interact with people, develop organizational and communication skills. My involvement with speech, debate and sports has made me more than just an academic person In the pursuit of excellence and with a passion to reach the highest skills in my discipline, I look upon University of Texas, Arlington a springboard to accomplish my dreams. This esteemed institution can serve as a ladder and enable me to achieve higher aims by providing me the most contemporary input and exposure.
I always knew NYU was meant for me. After getting rejected as a first-time freshman, I did not get easily discouraged, instead, I devoted two amazing learning years to nursing prerequisites at Cypress College, viewing this setback as an opportunity for growth and improvement in all aspects of my life. As I wrap up my journey at community college to take the next step in my life, I ask myself, “How will I be able to make a difference in healthcare and make efforts to positively change my community?” As a first-generation college student who's been surrounded by Hispanics throughout my life, I know how stubborn and scared my community is to get the medical attention they need and deserve. Working as a bilingual nursing assistant, I have created
New York University has always been the school I have pictured myself attending since I was a child. I walk past NYU on my way home from school everyday and I can picture myself being involved in the energetic atmosphere that the school provides. NYU is a school which I believe will challenge me both academically and socially to help me become the best version of myself that I can be. The types of people which NYU help to educate are nothing short of spectacular both as people and in their fields.
Membership in Ball State University's Honors College presents an opportunity for me to be surrounded by peers who share a similar commitment to academic excellence. I am eager to build beneficial connections with like-minded students who take their education seriously. Furthermore, I look forward to interacting with professors who will challenge me to grow to my full potential. I believe that this stimulating and rigorous academic environment will push me to excel academically and personally.
To some, the University of Chicago may seem like just another college with the iconic speech about how you can make a club to match your interests, or how great the food is. However, once you go beneath the surface it is impossible to underestimate the educational and intellectual benefits as well as the community and possibilities which stem from UChicago. I first learned about the University of Chicago at the beginning of my junior year when I inquired for a list of suitable schools from my principal. After researching the University of Chicago, it became my first choice, I even have a poster on my bedroom wall! I became excited about the opportunities the chemistry department offers as well as the idea of the Common Core, the joining of an intellectually motivated community and the ability to make a difference as many other UChicago alumni have.
The countless opportunities available at Brown University for me to learn in a flexible academic environment is exactly what I desire and need. Brown’s programs not only let me dive deep into the concentrations that I am most passionate about, but also let me explore outside of my interests, exposing myself to a variety of environments and experiences, especially with the open curriculum. Besides focusing on biology, I aspire to explore varieties of fields, including Korean culture. As a Korean individual, I want to learn about the culture not only in the familial setting, but also in a classroom setting, comparing the two perspectives. In today’s world, it is important to maintain not only a grasp on my cultural identity, but also to keep
The heart of New York City is New York University. By joining the network of NYU, I will be able to study at an institution that has a long tradition of academic excellence among private universities in the United States. Additionally, I will be able to be part of an internationally recognized learning network with locations all across the globe. It would be a pleasure to study at a globally recognized university. A friend of mine who is a recent graduate from NYU College of Nursing has praised the program and conveyed to me a very positive experience.
My interest in Accounting stemmed from my optimistic expectation about career development in this field. Accounting is so important in the business world that only on the basis of accounting information, management is able to make investment decisions, and optimize internal operation. Thus, it is widely applied to every business sector. However, due to a strange combination of circumstances, I was matriculated by Biology and Medical Engineering College, instead of the Economic and Management College, in which I could accumulate the knowledge that would allow me to realize my career ambition. Changing major was not easy to operate in our university.
