Everyone’s truth is different, no two people are exactly alike and therefore they will always have different opinions and ways of doing things. Nietzsche says that “You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist”. Nietzsche is trying to say that there is no “right way” of doing things and therefore everyone does things their own way. None of these ways are incoherently wrong some might just be better than others. After researching Nietzsche earlier this year I learned that he doesn’t believe in truth at all. This would explain why he doesn’t believe there is a right way of doing things. In this quote I believe that Nietzsche is using people’s opinions and their way of doing things as a metaphor for the truth. I agree with Nietzsche’s quote when it is taken as is. What I mean by this is that I agree with Nietzsche’s statement when you read it without taking the deeper meanings into account. What I think Nietzsche is trying to saying with the quote; “You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist”, is that everyone’s opinions are irrelevant because there is no truth to the matter. What I believe is that everyones opinions are important because they ensure that we are trying to learn new things and search for our own personal truth. I disagree with Nietzsche because I believe that there is such a thing as truth and while truth my be skewed from one person to the next it still exists. Truth can evolve and change but it is still the truth. I contend that truth isn’t necessarily the “right way” or “right answer” but that it is what people believe is right. I think that the truth is different for everyone because it represents their beliefs and
