The book Night is about a twelve-year-old boy that grew up in Transylvania which is a small town. Elie studied Talmud but he wanted to learn Kabbalah. His father found out that the Nazi got control over Hungary. The Nazi’s started to evacuate the Jews out of Transylvania, and started loading them all into the cattle cars.
Elie Wiesel, the author of Night, was born in a town of Sighet, Transylvania, which is now known as Romania, in the year 1928 of September 30th. Elizer had three sisters and was pursuing Jewish religious studies at a nearby yeshiva, before failing to flee the country for safety from the Nazi Germany Soldiers. At the age of 15, he, along with his family and the entire Jewish population, were expelled from their hometowns and were forced to relocate to concentration camps. Due to this outcome, Elie and his father were separated from his mother and sister and was deported to a concentration camp in Auschwitz in 1944. They were later transferred to a “very good camp,” called Buna in Buchenwald.

During this war, Hitler was appointed chancellor of Germany, causing the Holocaust. Because of this, more than fifty million military and civilians died. At the time, Elie Wiesel was fifteen years old when him and his family were forced to leave their home.
The book ¨Night¨ is written by a Holocaust survivor and and Nobel Peace Prize winner, Elie Wiesel, who went through terrible things during his time in German captivity. The events were unforgettable and life changing. He stayed with his father through all of these tough times. He escaped the terror of the Holocaust turning him into a savage even though it caused attacks from prisoners and insanity.
In his Nobel prize speech in 1986 Elie Wiesel stated that” to forget the dead would be akin to killing them a second time”. In his memoir, Night by Elie Wiesel, he shares his experiences of the Holocaust through the eyes of a young teenager. Ellie and his father, Shlomo, must quickly adapt from a peaceful life to living a nightmare in the concentration camps. The memoir highlights the horrific war crimes the Nazis committed, and the suffering Jewish people went through. The best authors are often the ones who can make the reader attach to a text.
The Night is a book that catches your feelings when you open the book, and is written by Elie Wiesel. Elie Wiesel is a man that survived the holocaust in Auschwitz. He was born September 30, 1928, and died July 2, 2016. In his book Night, he explains his experiences at Auschwitz. As the book continues to come toward the climax when they arrive at the camp, Elie Wiesel starts to lose his faith.
The Nazi’s were horrible and did many things to people who are unimaginable. According to Elie Wiesel in the memoir night, published in 2006, and by Oprah’s interview with Eliezer Wiesel at Auschwitz one technique the Nazi’s used to get what they wanted from the prisoners was mind games to trick them into doing things. To begin, the holocaust was a horrible time in history and millions of people died from the Nazi’s. The Nazi’s used mind games to get the prisoners to go into the “shower” which, according to Oprah in her interview with Elie, “when they were inside the door was shut and they were in a gas chamber.”
Night by Elie Wiesel is an autobiographical retelling of the horrific memories of the Holocaust. In the beginning of the book, Elie and his family are held captive in their home located in Sighet, which is in the ghettos. The ghettos are a place of waiting before they go to the concentration camps. Elie and his family are last leave.
In the book Night Eliezer came face to face to some of his greatest fears, separating with his family, didn’t know where they were going but all at once he felt changed. He didn’t feel like God was with him, he felt as if he vanished. They go to many concentration camps and work many hours, go through tons of selections, train trip, and running miles a day. Your time at the camp is either life or death swaying back and forth. “Never shall I forget those moments that murdered my God and my soul that turned my dreams to ashes.”
For example, in the passage it states “I was watching a faded color print of a movie filmed in the middle ages : I was standing by it by some mistake “. In this example, the author is helping the reader visualize the moment the author is in. Imagery may help a reader better understand the deeper meaning of something & what's going on. Night, a book about an amazingly brave, bold, determined boy who was forced into manhood. Elie Wiesel was just a 15 year old boy when he first started hearing about the camps, and at that age, he wasn’t old enough to understand that there are real problems hidden behind what the Germans were telling them. From the time when Elie and his family were taken by the Germans and by the time Elie was rescued, he was a completely different person. With all the struggles Elie went through put a strain on his life that can never be healed, so for Elie to write this book and go through all of the hard struggles and old thoughts. But along with writing this book can wonderful lessons and a beautiful message.
Imagery allows a reader to imagine the events of a story within their mind through mental images. Imagery can describe how something looks, a sound, a feeling, a taste, or a smell. Imagery is especially important when the author is describing a character or a setting. The short story The Man In The Black Suit by Stephen King has several excellent examples of imagery.
