Nikola Tesla born in in what is now known as Croatia. However before his death Nikola achieved many great inventions that we still use today. Like the Tesla Coil the Tesla coil is an electrical resonant transformer circuit designed in 1891. A Tesla coil consists of two parts a primary coil and secondary coil, each with its own capacitor. The two capacitors are connected by a spark gap. Air between the gap of the two electrodes generates a spark of electricity. As complicated as that sounds you can make a Tesla Coil with a few simple steps. In Tesla early life he studied at Realschule, Karlstadt. The polytechnic institute in Graz, Austria and, he also studied at the university of Prague during the 1870s. After he finished his studies he worked …show more content…
With the letter of introduction to famed inventor and business mogul Thomas Edison. Thomas later hired Tesla the two worked alongside each other making improvements to inventions. Months later the two parted ways due to scientific dispute after being forced to worked as a manual laborer to survive. In 1887 Tesla found interest with AC Electrical Company which founded the Tesla Electric Company by the end of the year Tesla caught the attention of engineer George Westinghouse seeking the solution to supplying the country the long distance power. In 1887 Westinghouse purchased patents from Tesla for 60,000 later Tesla and westinghouse came into direct competition with Thomas Edison. Today in our everyday life we use the Tesla Model s an everyday electric car and the Tesla Coil that's stilled used in radios today. Tesla motivation was his interest in electric inventions that was encouraged by his mother. Tesla has also won several awards that are IEEE Edison medal, John Scott Legacy Medal and premium and last but not least Elliott Cresson Medal. Something of interest
