Notre Dame Law School and I share a common ambition. I, like NDLS, aim to navigate through various political, social, and spiritual communities in order to contribute positively to both the legal profession and the greater society. This common goal is the foundation for my interest in NDLS; however, there is much more to be said for why I hope to attend Notre Dame Law School in the fall.
As an individual intending to practicing law in the public sector, I am aware of the many routes available. Thus, it is crucial for me to attend a law school that offers a well-rounded education in which I can explore all my interests, but eventually immerse myself in my chosen path. I am attracted to the various opportunities to do exactly this at NDLS. More specifically, am very interested in the Programs of Study in Public Law and in Criminal Justice. My studies in political science in the nation’s capital have inspired an interest in the body of rules governing America and foreign nations. In addition, my experiences as outlined in my personal statement have brought forward a strong motivation to advocate on behalf of individual rights and dignity. One piece of advice I have consistently heard from attorneys is to attend a law school that complements classroom learning with real world application. The variety of options for real world experience have confirmed my interest in Notre Dame Law School. I would love to participate in the Economic Justice Clinic to help individuals targeted by discriminatory practices and become better acquainted with the South Bend community. If admitted, I also plan on participating in the ND Law in DC or Chicago externship. I have already established connections in DC, but establishing connections within the Midwest is necessary for my
