27 March 2017 Nuclear warfare came about during World War II, after Leo Szilard Germen scientist who studied chemistry, found out that there is a way to spilt an atom or combine the atom that causes a violent physics, decided to write Roosevelt a letter explaining Hitler might be on the verge of creating his own bomb that would give him a far greater lead in the war. They found out that splitting the nuclei or combining them creates a violent reaction In 1941 Franklin started to discover his own nuclear warfare. Even though the Nazis were close to have the power in their control, people think this type of warfare is a cruel and unusual punishment and should not be used in war, but

If people look back into history to the bombing of Japan on August 6, 1945, that killed around 129,000-226,000 people. Thinking that the United States killed that many men, women, and children Japan would have declared an all-out war against the United States. As bad as the effects were on Hiroshima only a few days later the United States dropped another bomb on Nagasaki that left about 80,000 dead and wounded. Even though, those were the only 2 nuclear bombs used ever, but it did indeed deter from World War II because Japan surrendered, but if the Empire of Japan did not surrender the Allied Forces were going to invade the main land of Japan and history states that would be the bloodiest battle ever written in history. On an island around 460 miles 38,000 allied forces were killed or missing and around 107,000 Japanese were killed. Using nuclear weapons did less damage than what would have happen if an evasion took place. Using those types of weapons did save many allied soldiers and it has deterred people war because they look back in history and remember that event that took place in japan and realize that the weapons did not grow weaker from that area but have only gotten stronger and more powerful with each growing day. That is why nuclear warfare deters countries from war or invasions. It also gives and advantage to them if war was to break out like the United States and Japan. Instead of the invasion the U.S used …show more content…
If a nuclear war happened, the chemical fallout would not only harm people that were not affected by the bombing. Not only is the blast deadly also, the after math is just as bad “The five-year death total may have even exceeded 200,000 as cancer and other long term effects took hand” (Manhattan project). The fallout would get into the air and water and contaminate everything, then people would be eating and drinking the chemicals. Also with it getting in the water it will stick to ships and boats and be transported to other countries that did not get hit by the nuke or by it getting transported by wind. Not only do people have to worry about a war, but where they store these missiles at and what would happen if one was to go off. These types of warheads would level a city with no problem and it would shoot up so much smoke and dust that would cause another big problem for everyone. All the ashes and smoke would block the sunlight, which could cause the temperature to drop and the plants to die. The smoke would also smother stuff that runs like ac or your vehicles. With that being said, it would hurt the community and surrounding cities. With bombs being bigger, it would hurt more cities and cause more ash and smoke to cover the skies. Furthermore, having these weapons keep the population safe from foreign attacks. With having these weapons, it keeps other countries from invading the land of
