It was the last day of clinicals; I was heartbroken, unhappy. I knew that the six days of clinicals would go by quickly, as I remembered my CNA instructor explaining that Nursing may be a good option for me. The connections, the loving and beautiful people who spoke wisdom within my heart. The people who were sad and needed a shoulder to cry on. The people who made my bad day into a good day, filled with a trailer of happiness and joyful experiences. Those experiences with the fabulous people was the moment I knew my aspirations and expertise are demanded within the healthcare industry. I knew that my gift of caring for others needed to be connected with my passion, and I, personally is anxiously waiting to assist others. Everything I want, everything I desire, and everything I’m willing to work hard for, is near, and I won’t stop into I’m finished. My dream career in receiving my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UW-Madison is inevitable, because of the wonderful people who inspired me to reach dreams that were not meant for Black males to achieve. Thus, the demand for Nurses are at an all time high. This comes into place with the rise in diseases, including influenza, and HIV/AIDS. Nurses are very critical in preventing and treating patients who need medical attention immediately.
