You are eating dinner with your family. Your dinner tonight is pizza, with cake for dessert. The next day, you eat for dinner, a steak and cheese sandwich. In the morning, you decide to buy lunch at school. The menu is either cheese crunchers or personal pizza. You decide to get the cheese crunchers. While you are in the lunch line, the sides for your lunch is either frozen yogurt or a salad. Of course, you get the frozen yogurt. This pattern goes on for the rest of your life. If you don’t know what obesity is, it is basically when you don’t keep your body physically healthy and you get seriously overweight. There are many different ways that people are getting obese, but I am only going to talk about school lunches and what they provide that makes you gain weight. Doctors are going all around the world to check on people and their weight. This means that obesity happens everywhere. Schools are sometimes providing healthy foods, like fruits and vegetables, but only 17% out of 100% of people are actually eating them. They will most likely choose the chocolate milk out of fat-free, or the mac and cheese out of the garden salad. People who eat lunch at school are 29% more likely to be obese than the people who bring their lunches to school every day. Obesity is causing such a problem, so we came up with a type of surgery that puts a band in your stomach to help you get fuller faster. We are calling in so many doctors and specialists to help with the problem. Schools don’t provide very healthy foods that often because people don’t eat it. It is a waste of food and money. So, from experience, they don’t like to sell healthy foods too often. As you can see, it is important that you eat healthy and do what your doctors say is best for
