In “Want To Get Into College? Learn to fail” (2012), Angel B. Pérez ,Vice President and Dean of Admission and Financial Aid at Pitzer College, argues that students are not okay with failing and are pressured to only show their success, Perez believes that this problem exist because teachers and parents taught them to only show their success and not to show their flaws. Perez supports his argument with his own personal experience .Perez supports his argument with “I wish I could tell you this is an uncommon story, but kids all over the world admit they are under tremendous pressure to be perfect,” (pg. 1 )

In this society that students live in the only way that they think they know how to tell people’s intelligence is by going to college. By not going to college the students think that they have more of an opportunity to explore the world then other people in college,but some disagree with this opinion and some agree that the source of all opportunity is the person and not their educational level. The educational level for language, math, and science has the student’s country ranked at the bottom because the people in the United States don’t take college seriously, it affects us as a country.

There are a lot of obstacles students face when trying to college and going to college, sometimes these obstacles involve how counseling and emotional support is out of the question and other reasons are fall into the category of not having too much money to afford school or if they could afford college through scholarships they still struggle with meeting their basic needs. Being with your mother is a place that will forever be a child 's favorite sanctuary, however, I never experienced that sacred temple. Because of this missing piece in my life, transitioning has never been easier.
We have experienced it at some point in our school years it comes to learning. We have some classes that grab our attention. Some classes just bored us to death. What makes a class dull and bland? Is it how the professors present the material or the students' lack of interests?
Facing with such negative factors, African American male students are always dealing with low graduation and retention rates. But many researchers have realized the challenges and draw attention on the specific resources for Black male students and their academic achievements. Toldson (2008) published a report on academic success for Black students called Breaking Barriers. He states that since most studies focus on the factors that cause the failure of African American students, it is essential to summarize those factors that contribute to their academic success, such as personal and emotional factors, family factors, social and environmental factors, and school factors (Toldson, 2008). College admissions should not include social media posts, test scores (SAT and ACT) and extracurricular activities. If college admissions solely allow these principles to dictate their entrances, there would be thousands of students who desire to further their education and strive in future professions struggling to get into universities. Although these methods can help the university decide between candidates to represent and make their school look good, the results and end products are still the same, universities/colleges get paid thousands of dollars from each one of their students, so why be picky about who to let in? Liberal Arts and Engineering Engineering is often considered to be an incredibly sought after position by the secular world. It is a prestigious career, esteemed by many people for the financial compensation that it earns even without the necessity of a graduate school. For much of American undergraduates, this is the final destination for any college experience: a good job and the wealth that comes with it. However, for the Christian college student, the overall goal is to live a life pleasing to God, rather than to oneself.
If you have a competence for science and math, either mechanical engineering or computer programming could satisfy you on the job. Programmers typically use more basic math, such as simple algebra or financial calculations, while mechanical engineers often work with complex math equations. Both need logic and analytical skills to solve problems. I hereby write this essay outlining my ardor, goals, educational background and my research interests.
The future was always been something that weighs heavily on my mind. With family being one of the most important values to me, I often think about a career and education that can provide well for my future family. As a young boy I discovered my potential in engineering through wonderful teachers and leaders, and began investing my time in that field of study. Right from my childhood days, I was always eager to know how things work in surroundings. When I was given toys, I hardly played with them rather tried to dismantle it and try to know the mechanism running it. During school days, I have participated in many science exhibitions which further motivated me towards taking my knowledge and experience onto a higher and advanced level. With this desire and curiosity to understand machines and mechanisms, I chose to complete my graduation in Mechanical Engineering.
For all of my life, I have had a skill and a great interest in the design and construction of a variety of objects and machinery. I have known since day one that all i wanted to do is design brand new and innovative technology. I have chosen Waterloo as my first choice of education for my future career as a mechanical engineer for many reasons. One being the schools amazing reputation as a school of applied sciences, having been given the nickname “MIT of the north” by many. I know a few people who have attended this University.
Students face various challenges throughout their college career. Thus, the problems that students have can range from balance, new lifestyle, to financial problems. Therefore, finding a balance between being a student, possibly working, and keeping up with their social life is a necessity. Similarly, others are away from home for the first time thus, they have a new responsibility with being on their own and findings ways to deal with homesickness. Likewise, being exposed to new financial situations is yet another challenge college students will need to learn how to cope with.
