One time this was shown was when george said to lennie. ‘’No, i ain’t mad, I never been mad,an’ I ain’t now. Thats a thing I want ya to know.’’ (106;Ch6) This signifies how George is and always has been forgiving and understanding to Lennie granted of all the problems he has caused for George. Another time was when Lennie was saying ‘’Guys like us got no family. They make a little stake an’ then they blow it . they ain’t got nobody in the worl’ who gives a hoot n’ hell about em’.’’ ‘’ But not us,’’ (104:Ch6). This just shows how George and Lennie have each other unlike most migrant workers who had nobody to care about them. It’s important because this just shows how everyone needs a friend and someone to care about them. One of the last times there was a sign of friendship between George and Lennie was when Lennie was talking to Curley's wife and she said ‘’ You never give a thought to George, ‘ she went on in Lennie's voice.’ He's been doin’ nice things for you all time. When he got a piece of pie you always get more n’ half. An’ if they was any ketchup, why hed give it all to you.’’ (01:Ch6). This just shows that when you have a friend and they are not doing so great or don't have as much you need to help them out and share with them. What's yours is their pretty much. This just shows why is important to have a friendship and that that's what the author is telling
