In my CED 101 class, I decided to interview the office manager of Benford Brown and Associates (BB&A). The office manager is a beautiful woman named Tasha Mason Garner. Also her boss who is the co- founder of Benford Brown and Associates is Kimmi Brown. The reason why I decided to pick Benford Brown and Associates, because this business is in the same field for accounting. During my first year at CMU, I decided to major in business administration. During thanksgiving break, I decided to head to BB&A during a normal workday to have the interview. Since the co-founder wasn't there for the day I decided to interview the office manager. The interview took roughly 30 minutes. My first question was what is BBA. She stated that Benford Brown & Associates, LLC (BB&A) is a certified, minority, woman-owned CPA firm that provides auditing, accounting, tax and small business consulting services for its clients. This company has two locations in the state of Illinois. One location is in Bolingbrook, Il and the second location is in Chicago, Ill. Majority of company is run by minorities and is increasing their revenue each year. The second question I ask was how did she receive this job? Tasha Mason Garner received this job through word of mouth, which landed me a temporary position with the company. After the position was over, they decided to keep me and I have been her for 11 years to date. The three questions were who is the CEO of the company? Ms. Mason stated that the company does not have one person the holds the position. BB&A is owned by three partners which all have equal parts of the overall operation of the company.
