Optic network solution, involved in developing and installing edge security software for public and private sector client and their business operation is in Ottawa for last eight years. It is evident from the information provided by the client ONS the company needs to reconsider some of the factor which is depriving their sale and profit figure.

From the case study it is evident that at ONS compensation programs based on incentives have only been provided to the company’s executives and sales personnel, where commissions are given to the sales team and executive incentive plan is provided to Executives. Now the company has decided to extend the incentive programs to all its staffs but as their profit rates are down they are not sure of how to plan it.
The rewards offered must be competitive so that candidates are attracted to join this company, if it is not so the existing employees will be inclined towards joining other competitors where the rewards are more (Beer et al, 2004). This will definitely lead to high staff turnover and for a company like ONS it will be quite costly.
